We are delighted that our 2E 'Connected' eco yoga mat picked up a Bronze medal in the 2020 Australian Non-Toxic Awards for the whole of yoga category. The awards celebrate products that are safe, ethical, sustainable and responsible.
When we started Second Earth back in 2016, it was our goal to create a business that would demonstrate that eco-friendly products were a viable alternative to the status quo that existed in the yoga industry.
We spent a considerable amount of time and money developing our flagship yoga mat - the 2E ‘Connected’ to ensure our lofty sustainability and performance objectives were met. We wanted to design a yoga mat that was not only sustainable and planet-friendly, we wanted to create something special that would benefit every single person that stepped on to it. It was our vision to blend the power of mother nature with modern design and create a yoga mat made entirely of natural materials to try and replicate the earth and connect you to it during your yoga practice (but with the comforts of 21st century technology ;-)).
We are very humbled to receive this award and proud that our 2E ‘Connected’ yoga mat is recognised as one of the best eco yoga mats in Australia.
Our business has always been driven by two key objectives: Sustainability and Performance. Sustainability is at the core of who we are and what we do but this has always been coupled with our commitment to never compromise on performance. Essentially, we have always wanted to make it as difficult as possible for someone to choose an alternative yoga mat over one of ours.
We strive to have minimal environmental impact at every stage of the product life cycle. Every single one of our products is made with ethically and sustainably farmed raw materials and never from tropical rainforests.
Our manufacturing facilities specialise in eco-friendly products and are committed to people and planet friendly operations. The facilities guarantee fair wages as well as safe and healthy conditions for all their employees and have relevant ISO accreditations in place.
None of our products are made with harsh chemicals or toxins and all our products are submitted annually to undergo appropriate REACH testing.
Oh yeah and we have a zero plastics policy in all our products and packaging and provide carbon neutral shipping.
It’s our goal to continue to build our reputation as providing the best yoga mats in Australia and we will keep expanding our range of eco-friendly yoga products. Along with our 2E ‘Connected’ mats our range also includes cork yoga mats, cork blocks, organic yoga straps and kids play mats.
